The Division of Information Technology invites faculty and staff to join them on Wednesday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the University Student Union’s Grand Salon to learn about the latest tech trends at the third annual CSUN Technology Fair.
“Our hope is that faculty and staff will get three things out of the fair: interact with some of our strategic vendors; learn from the presentations and speakers about relevant topics in technology in higher education and to socialize and network,” said Ben Quillian, associate vice president of information technology.
Vendors at this event will include Box, a leading company in online file saving and sharing; Lynda.com, a provider of online video tutorials in various subjects; OnBase, a strategic enterprise content management (ECM) solution; and Echo360, higher education’s first active learning platform. Representatives from Apple, HP and Dell will also be on hand to answer questions. These companies are either already providing services to CSUN or will be providing services in the near future.
Two guest speakers will present at the event. Clifford Nass, Ph.D., of Stanford University will give a lecture titled “Multitasking: How it’s Changing You and Your Students” in the morning, and Laurie Burruss from Lynda.com will present “Learning Outside the Classroom” in the afternoon.
